Charlottes Web
Charlottes Web is a hemp-dominant, and cannabis hybrid strain that will produce plants with long and thin fan leaves. It will also emit lemon and pine scents that are very common in many Sativa strains. Its scent is very much like a cannabis seed strain, with a dank and citrusy aroma, along with some light floral notes. Those who are used to more psychoactive strains will notice that Charlotte’s Web has relatively few pistils, a near absent amount of THC crystals, and very little stickiness.
Origin
Charlottes Web is a high CBD, low THC hemp strain, and was a hybrid from Colorado’s “Stanley Brothers”. The brothers came up with the strain in order to treat and reduce the effects of seizures. Charlotte’s Web gained its popularity after being featured on CNN for the effects it had on Charlotte Figi, a young girl with a rare seizure disorder. What makes this strain special is the fact that its name was after Charlotte Fiji. It also became the focus of a nation-wide effort to make medical marijuana legally accessible for patients like Charlotte.
Growing Charlottes Web
Charlottes Web will follow the typical guidelines of most Sativa plants. 60 to 70 days indoors, September to October outdoors. Outdoor yields expect to be 16 ounces or more per plant. Indoor grows will generally be around 12 to 16 ounces per square meter.
Use & Effects
Unlike its closely related compound THC, CBD doesn’t act directly on the body’s cannabinoid receptors. Instead, it works indirectly by increasing the amount of the body’s own cannabinoid compounds to stimulate those receptors. In other words, CBD may act as a boost in order to help out many of the body’s naturally occurring processes. It’s great if you’re looking for a potent CBD bud to help ease conditions like epilepsy, PD, or FM. On top of that, you’re able to medicate without your mind becoming foggy. It also has a sweet and delicate lemon/citrus flavor, so it’s pretty nice on the taste buds too.
